Nursery Zoo2U Nocturnal Animal Visit
Written by Holly
Nursery have been learning about nocturnal animals that sleep in the day and are awake at night. During the visit, they met a hedgehog called Faith and an owl called Jazz and I will tell you all about them.
Dislikes: the light and seeds
Likes: sleeping and bugs
All the children in nursery loved her and the Zoo2U helper went around and let the children stroke her. But before she did that she told everyone to move your finger downwards because if you push down you will prick your finger on her spikes; by the way, she is spikey on the back but on her tummy, she is soft and fragile. We all tried to wake her up but she did not want to, but when she was about to go back into her cage she woke up for a smile and it was cute.
The next animal they got to meet was Jazz the Owl
Firstly, the helper from Zoo2U asked all the children to put on hand sanitiser to make sure they did not share any germs with Jazz. She than asked everyone to keep very quiet as she brought the owl out of its box, so not to scare him.
Jazz the owl likes to sleep in the morning and likes to be up all night.
Likes: mouse’s (he loves them, they are his favourite food)
So nursery had a wonderful day and enjoyed getting the chance to see and touch these nocturnal animals. After the visit they all went to play and talked about the animals. I hope they had as good a time as I did as I loved getting to see the animals with the Nursery and I hope you enjoy having a look at some pictures of the animals.
