Y3 Gladstone Pottery Trip
By Holly and Hollie
On Friday 1st March, Y3P went on an historical adventure to Gladstone Pottery Museum. They did many things such as; a tour, painting pottery and copying designs of Clarice Cliffs art. Clarice Cliff, is an English ceramic artist active from 1922 to 1963 she became the head of the factory artistic department. We all know Clarice Cliff is very artistic. We heard that Year 3 had an amazing time discovering new things.
We spoke to the children & teachers in Y3 about their trip:
“I had an amazing day, my favourite bit was painting the pottery, it was really hard to copy the designs, but we all made it in the end,”.
This was taken from a year 3 child who went on the trip to learn interesting things about the museum.
“Everyone enjoyed the Gladstone adventure including the teachers who were mostly looking at the pottery and different designs of Clarice cliff one of the designs is called art deco it was an amazing experience for the children and they learned lots of stuff about the museum”.
This trip, is very family friendly for all ages. Most of the children enjoyed painting all sorts of pottery like plates and pots. We really recommend going here, because this very educational for adults and children.
A quote from a member of staff:
“The children were amazing, the trip was amazing, everything was amazing,”.
We are really happy that everyone in Y3 had an amazing day and really enjoyed themselves. There will be plenty more trips to come for all classes.
